Email and hosting services: Porkbun and WP Cloud provide domain, website hosting and email delivery services.

Information we request

For a reader subscription, we request your email address and confirmation that you want Folio Signal emails, including labelled sponsored editions. For a company enquiry, we request your name, work email, company, website and message.

How we use it

Reader email addresses are used to confirm subscriptions, deliver requested editions and manage preferences. Enquiry details are used to respond to that enquiry and arrange a potential service. An enquiry does not automatically create a newsletter subscription.

Your choices

New reader subscriptions require email confirmation. Each newsletter must provide an unsubscribe route. You can request access, correction or deletion through the privacy contact identified above. We retain a minimal suppression record where needed to honour an unsubscribe.

Service providers and advertisers

Website hosting and email delivery providers process information needed to provide those services. We do not provide a subscriber email list to sponsors as part of Spotlight. Sponsors receive aggregated delivery and engagement reporting, not your subscription details.

Measurement

If you allow optional analytics, Google Analytics helps us understand visits, traffic sources, company enquiries and confirmed subscriptions. It uses analytics cookies and receives basic device and visit information. We do not send your email address, enquiry message or confirmation link to Google Analytics. Google advertising storage and advertising personalization are disabled.

Analytics stays off until you choose Allow analytics. Declining does not affect access to the site or its forms. Use the Privacy choices button to change your decision. We remember your choice in this browser for up to six months; you can also clear it through your browser settings. Website totals cover consenting visitors and may be lower than the actual number of enquiries or subscriptions.

Email delivery and newsletter engagement measurement depends on the selected email service and will be described before activation.

Retention

Unconfirmed subscription records are removed after seven days. Confirmed addresses are retained while subscribed. After unsubscribe, the address is removed from the active list and only a keyed suppression value and relevant status dates are retained. Unconverted enquiries are retained for up to 90 days in this website; any separate service correspondence follows the operator’s documented retention policy.

Changes

This notice will be updated when the operator, processors or collection practices change. Material changes affecting your choices will be communicated appropriately.
